Jackson’s home town of Alameda, CA., is mainly located on Alameda Island on the east side of San Francisco Bay, just west of, and adjacent to, Oakland, CA. It was originally inhabited by the Ohlone Indians in its once lush and dense forest of Coastal Oak trees.  It was founded as a city in 1853, and became a charter city in 1916.  With a population of 76,000, Alameda occupies 23 square miles and has a mean elevation of 33 feet.  Alameda was the original terminus of the first transcontinental railroad in 1869, and today is the home to the museum air craft carrier U.S. Hornet, which is moored at the site of the former Naval Alameda Air Station.  Alameda is home to Rosenblum Cellars Winery, Rock Wall Winery, and St. George Spirits.  NBA player/coach Jason Kidd attended high school in Alameda, as did MLB players Willie Stargell, Tommy Harper, and Curt Motton.  It rarely snows or gets very cold in Robby Jackson’s hometown.
