Time is running out to submit your picks for this year’s pool. The deadline has been extended to Friday morning, March 26, at 9:00am Pacific Time. If you can’t find your bracket, it is available here: Click on “Brackets” in the upper right hand corenre of this page. Remember: It costs nothing to play, and the winner gets a prize; also, send me your picks in a string of winners names in game number order as indicated under the line where you would write the game winner — and example of this is given below the bracket.
A clarification on the posting from a couple of days ago in the WCHA championship game between North Dakota and St. Cloud State: I was trying to summarize a very high scoring, back and forth game into a sentence, and I probably should have done so the way I did with the BC-Maine championship game in Hockey East, and just reported that a ton of goals were scored, and who won the game. This game between North Dakota and St. Cloud was really amazing, so I’ll add a bit more detail and clarify now.
My note sort of started commenting in the second, when North Dakota scored two, actually the fourth straight unanswered goal, and went up 4-2. My note also went on to say the St. Cloud fought back (they scored a goal in the second to make it close, 4-3), but North Dakota took control in the third and scored again, making it 5-3 for the final score. What I did not metnion was that St. Cloud took an extremely early lead in the game, scoring two goals in the first fifty-five seconds! You don’t see that one every day. North Dakota scored five minutes later on a power play goal, and then scored three additional unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead in the second. What a game! Eight goals, four in the first period alone!
That’s it for now. Stay tuned, and go Terriers!
