It’s nice to have the college hockey season up and running. So what’s exciting this early in the season? A couple of things in the top ten rankings: First, Nebraska-Omaha, which we don’t see a whole lot in the top ten, is currenty ranked #9; also, Minnesota-Duluth, which we see ranked more often, is starting out higher than we normally see them, currently at #3. Other than that, the top ten is rounded out by teams we are familiar with in these rankings.
So what were the big results last weekend for top teams? Some pretty exciting stuff. #1 Boston College was beaten by #17 Notre Dame; this dropped BC to #2, and Notre Dame rose up to the #13 spot. Next, #2 North Dakota was swept by #12 Maine, which dropped North Dakota to #8, and Maine rose up to the #7 spot. Lastly, #4 Michigan split with #10 Nebraska-Omaha; Michigan held on to the #4 spot, and UNO rose up to #9.
This weekend there are a couple of great top 15 matchups: #8 North Dakota will host #12 Denver for two games; and #10 New Hampshire travels to face #14 Cornell tonight — this is the season opener for Cornell.
So we’re off and running.
This provides the top ten teams, rankings, records, and last week’s results:

That’s it for now. Stay tuned, and go Terriers!
