Tomorrow one of the greatest sporting events kicks off when #3 Union College faces #9 Ferris State at 1:30pm Pacific Time, on ESPNU. In the second game of the day, #1 Boston College faces #6 Minnesota at 5pm Pacific Time on ESPN2.
So if you are able to get near a TV at those times, I think you will see some great hockey.
The nature of these Frozen Four pairs echoes those of last year: One pair of teams with long histories of being there, a lot, with a lot of NCAA championships, in Boston College and Minnesota; and one pair of teams, neither of which has won an NCAA championship, and without long, colorful NCAA championship histories, in Union College and Ferris State. In fact, Union College is 2-1 in NCAA playoffs, with both wins having come this year in the first two rounds of the tournament, and its loss having come last year in the first round against Minnesota-Duluth.

What’ll it be?
Will Boston College continue its powerful late season surge?
Will Minnesota continue its dominant playoff play?
Can Ferris State University continue to reverse its late season slump and return to mid-season form when they were ranked #1?
Will Union College continue with its powerful attack?

We’ll know the answers to all of these questions very, very soon.

And then it’s the championship game, Saturday, 4:00pm Pacific Time on ESPN2.
Do you have your championship game party lined up?
If you need a Kielbasa, sauerkraut, and onion recipe (hint — that’s pretty much the recipe), speak up, ok?
And don’t forget to chill a can or two or Olympia or Pabst.
Who is going to be our latest inductee to the College Hockey Update Hall of Fame? Will it be new blood? I know we can’t wait to find out!
