#3 Boston College scored first on #5 UMass-Lowell with seven minutes remaining in the first, and UMass-Lowell came back five minutes later to tie it up, 1-1. The two teams played to a stalemate from that point until the end of the second, when BC scored with two minutes left in the second, but again Mass-Lowell responded, this time only a minute later, to tie it again at 2-2.
In the third, Lowell started out on fire and scored only a minute into the period to take their first lead of the game at 3-2. But only half a minute later, BC responded to tie it up at 3-3. The fight continued well into the third, with BC seeming to turn the momentum their way, and BC scored their fourth goal with nine minutes remaining. UMass-Lowell seemed to run out of energy late in the period, and BC held them off, and held on to a 4-3 win. Boston College advanced to the Frozen Four to play #1 Union College on Thursday, April 10th in Philadelphia.
So, so far Union College, North Dakota, and Boston College are in the Frozen Four. The last team will be determined in about forty minutes from the time of this post.
Not only was BC picked in the first round by thirty-seven of forty entries in our pool, but of those thirty-seven, twenty seven picked them to make it to the Frozen Four.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned, and go Terriers!
