College Hockey Update: Thanks for being in the pool.
IF YOU DISAGREE WITH MY SCORING FOR YOU, EMAIL ME RIGHT AWAY.
(I’ve kept all the emailed entries).
I DID DOUBLE CHECK, BUT MISTAKES ARE POSSIBLE.
What a major difference in the tournament’s game outcomes this year vs. last year. Last year there were eight games out of the first twelve that were won by only one goal; this year there have been nine games that have been won by three or more goals! But, much the same as last year, this year there have not been many upsets in the pool at all — two last year, and two this year. This year it’s been Cornell over Denver, and a minor upset in the pool of Pennsylvania State over Michigan Tech; and then there’s the ripple effect of that downstream in the games played after the upset. But still a small number. We won’t have another perfect bracket this year as we did last year, so, for now, George Huberty, your record is safe. We do have four who have eleven out of twelve picks so far . . . . with that said . . . . here we go — participants are ranked by the number of correct picks, with the highest number possible at this point being twelve:
11 Fairbrother, Rice, Sell, CSlaughter
10 MOlson, MReichel, Ryan, GSchreader, TShymanski
9 Allen, Esposito, Hollywood, Miller, Muscarella, EOlson, Oswald, Peterson, KRamsey, PReichel, JSchreader, Shimshock, DShymanski, Speare
8 Holte, Huberty, Kelly, Michela, Rarden, Smith
7 Cattermole, Gallus, Kriesel, Meier, Pastor, JSlaughter
6 Erdman, Krajan, Kramer, KMattson, McLean, DRamsey, Shepard, Sweeney
5 Bettendorf, Carlisle, DMattson, PMattson, WRoth
3 ORoth
It will be here before we know it, the Frozen Four. Can’t wait.
We’ll soon know who won the 2023 NCAA Hockey Championship, AND who won the 2023 College Hockey Update Pool!
That’s all for now.
Stay tuned, and go Terriers!
