College Hockey Update: In a private Awards Ceremony, surrounded by family and friends, 2013 Pool Winner Nick Cruz was awarded the Prize Tuesday night, April 16th, in San Jose, California.
“Oh, we couldn’t be prouder,” boasted his father, Richard Cruz, “but I just wish my picks had come through and I were awarded that coveted prize.”
“I have always told my son, if you want to be somebody, to really be somebody, you have to set your sights really really high, and just go for it,” added Richard Cruz, “and sure as heck he did it — I mean what could possibly be bigger than winning the College Hockey Update Pool?!”

“We have known all along he is a very special guy, but we didn’t imagine that one day he would win something as prestgious as the College Hockey Update Pool,” added his mother, Hanneke Cruz.
“I still have his handpirnt in the clay mold that he brought home from kindergarden, and now I can add to that, the video of tonight’s Award Ceremony,” continued Mrs. Cruz, ” it is truly a dream come true.”

“He only won it because I didn’t enter the pool,” explained his sister, Rachel Cruz.
“He might think he is some kind of hot stuff because of his hockey experience,” added Rachel, “but he knows I could always crush him when it came to synchronized swimming, and he sure doesn’t have the room full of trophies I have for all that time in the water — he would have to be very lucky next year competing against me in anything containing the word ‘pool.’ ”
“What is ice hockey?” asked family friend, Mike Rugani, “Bocce Ball I know all about, but not this ice hockey stuff — sounds cold to me.”
“Wait until we enter the college hockey update pool next year,” warned his girlfriend, Dray Harris. “Yep, then he’s toast,” added her bff, Erin Toohey.
The only way you can get yours is to enter the pool. Next year.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned, and go Terriers!
