Denver Trashes Penn State

Denver junior forward Jarid Lukosevicius, of Squamish, B.C., screened the Penn State goalie for this Denver score yesterday during the late game of at the Midwest Region in Allentown, PA.  Lukosevicius also scored two goals yesterday, as Denver bombed Penn State 5-1, and advanced to the final game of the Midwest Region today against Ohio State.  That game is well underway, and at the time of this posting, the score is Ohio State 1, Denver 0, six minutes into the second period.

That game is on, and as of this posting, the score is Ohio State 1, Denver 0, ten minutes into the second.

College Hockey Update:  Yesterday in the late game of the Midwest Regional in Allentown, PA, Denver destroyed Penn State in a commanding performance.  Kohen Olischefski scored a goal twelve minutes into the first period to give Denver a 1-0 lead, and with three minutes left in the frame, Troy Terry scored to make it 2-0, Denver, at the break.  Henrik Borgström scored five minutes into the second and extended the lead to 3-0, and Jarid Lukosevicius scored with three seconds left in the frame on a power play goal to make it 4-0, Denver, at the break.  At this point of the game, Denver had outshot Penn State 31-17.  In the third, Penn State scored during a double-penalty, 4×4, eight minutes into the frame, to make it 4-1, Denver, but then Jarid Lukosevicius struck again with eight minutes remaining for the final score of the game, to make it 5-1, Denver.  Denver advanced to play in the final Midwest Region game today in Allentown, PA.  That game is on, and as of this posting, the score is Ohio State 1, Denver 0, ten minutes into the second.  You can watch that game on ESPNU.

The outcome of this game is not a surprise in our pool, as 45 participants out of 50 had picked Denver to win, and only five had picked Penn State.
